Rain

Hard rain on a red clay roof
Beating like drums
Feeding the earth
The rhythms move through my body and dance in my head as I move in and out of sleep, drawn to the magic sound.
Nature’s music: steel drums, djembe, bass, orchestrated through raindrops on the roof.
Earth soaking it in and running it off
Nourishing the plants that nourish us
A chorus of life on our land
Nature’s music tap dancing with my spirit
